 Junior Staffing Positions (ages 15+) and Senior Staffing Positions (ages 17+) are available for both male and female staff. For Senior Staff working all summer, paid and bursary positions are available (more information below). 

For every cabin of campers, we have at least two cabin leaders right there with them throughout the camp week! Being a cabin leader isn't always easy, but it is definitely a very rewarding experience. You are provided with an amazing opportunity to connect and point many campers to Christ.

Junior Leader Positions

Full-time and part-time positions are available. These positions are volunteer, but are a great way to prepare for a paid senior staff position in the future. They are also a valuable way to deepen your relationship with God through the spreading of the Gospel through ministry and sacrifice. It's also a fantastic way to build community with other like-minded Christian people.

Senior Leader Positions

Full-time and part-time positions are available. There are a total of 8 full-time, paid positions available. Otherwise, we are still in need of Senior Staff for all camps. For the full-time paid positions, if accepted, we offer $2250 for the full summer.

Educational Bursary

If you are applying for the full-time senior position, and are attending post-secondary schooling following the camp summer, you are eligible to apply for our educational bursary. Through the camp, personal fundraising, and the local church, you can have $5000 sent to your school to help cover tuition and financial costs for you. 

Here's how it breaks down...

• $2250 is raised through personal fundraising
• $2250 is matched by SLBC
• The Final $500 is topped up by a local church.

For your personal fundraising, it is recommended you write a personal letter to your family, friends, local church community, and any one that comes to your mind. 

• The personal letter doesn't have to be long (1 page is definitely sufficient).
• Typically, a good format for your letter is:

1. Introduce yourself, share where you are working, and  the reason you are writing this letter (for prayer support and financial support)
2. Share a bit about camp and the ministry you will be apart of
3. Share a bit about what the educational bursary is, the school you are hoping to attend after camp, and share how they can support you financially -E-transfers can be sent to bank@sturgeonlakebiblecamp.com and make sure they write a note on the e-transfer explaining who the money is intended for.                               -Cash or Cheque can be mailed to P.O. Box 1469 Valleyview, AB T0H 3N0.
4. Lastly, share specific ways they can support YOU in prayer! This letter isn't just for financial support, so share multiple ways they can support you in prayer as you serve at camp.

Serving in the camp kitchen provides an awesome opportunity to feed many hungry bellies while coming alongside the mission and purpose of SLBC. If you are interested in leading or join a kitchen team, or want to find out more information, please email the camp email.

Whether directly or indirectly involved, there are many more opportunities for you to come alongside the mission of this camp! 

On-site at camp, there are opportunities available to:

• Encourage staff
• and more!

Off-site of camp, there are opportunities to pray daily for SLBC through SMS texting updates, Popping in and bring coffee's for our staff, Donating Campers/ RV's for the summer for speakers and cooks to sleep in, and more.

Depending on the position you're interesting in, you may have to complete preliminary required steps for your application (such as a recent criminal record check with vulnerable sector check, a completed application form, references, etc.)

• If you are interested in Program Directing, please fill out the same application that cabin leaders fill out found at the bottom of this page, and just indicate when prompted that you are applying for the Program Directing Position.

• If you are interested in helping the camp through maintenance projects (whether it be helping wherever we need or in a specific regard, such as a skilled trade) please reach out the camp email listed above, and we can get you connected to the right people!

• If you are interested in speaking at camp, you can reach out on the camp email. All speakers must agree and adhere to SLBC's Statement of Faith. On your e-mail (especially if you don't know many people associated with camp) share a bit about yourself and let us know where you stand regarding your statement of faith.
